Take part in being Deluxe

The next version is in progress and will be a milestone release. Many people take part in developing this software and making it as Deluxe as you know it.

We want to create the best version of karaoke software you ever experienced. Thereto dozens of features already have been implemented to offer you the most reliable and stable product for a satisfying karaoke experience on Mac, Linux and Windows.

At this point we want to ask for your help. So many people spend their free time for a free product and I guess it´s time to give all of them a little reward. But how ?

  • Translate the product:
    To enjoy UltraStar Deluxe in your native language it has to be translated. Download this file and translate it into any language you speak, we need an update for each language files,  even if it already has been created and uploaded here, due to some changes for the next release version. The old one from 1.0.1a can provide a basis.

    Update: We already received some translations. If you want to update a translation, make sure it´s not already updated (except! the “old”-folder which not has been updated yet), but of course you can recheck the updated file for errors, typing faults etc.

  • Donate to help us keeping up our work:

    Donate

  • Use your knowledge:
    Create an account and fill in the gaps in our wiki, to help creating the biggest and easiest support platform with easy to understand articles of best quality made by users for users.
  • Spread the word:
    Tell your friends about the product, get them around and try out an UltraStar Deluxe party as some users did before.
  • Keep yourself up-to-date:
    Get the latest information about the project on our wiki, forum, youtube channel and blog, especially in the easter week
  • Get in contact with us:
    Tell us what you like or dislike - we will listen to you!
    Don´t forget the comment function :)

And last but not least:

Has anyone seen an easter egg? I guess I lost one… you might want to do me the favor and return it on Easter Sunday.

    It was the yellow “egg” on the top of the page :D
    But Whiteshark also “complained” about not recognizing that thing as an egg, so I hid another somewhere else … not too far away :)

    Mac version is definitly coming, so as Linux is -

    I tried the alpha version both on Intel and PowerPC with MacOS 10.4 and the program didn’t open (it closes before it starts). Hope the new version works with my machine.

    Hearing that the program does not work on 10.4 makes me concerned about the cause, since it should have worked. In order to check i would need some more details. Can you get in contact with me, either by e-mail (karl-michael.schindler@web.de) or meet me in the irc channel #ultrastardx on irc.quakenet.org. I could send you a recent 10.4 powerpc version of USDX for testing.

    I am from Brasil. I’m working hard to make ultrastar popular in my country. I’m creating a lot of brasilian songs by my self (not piracy!) using real SoundFonts and editing midi files.

    I’ve aready done 2 translations to BRASILIAN Portuguese. This is my third one:

    Hi!
    It’s me again.

    I saw Kold’s translation to portuguese. It’s a very good translation. So I think its not necessary to change it. I put my translation to brasilian portuguese because some brasilians would feel more confortable with it. If its not possible to include 2 portuguese.ini files, then the Kold’s translation looks better. Thanks Canni.

    I love USDX and keeping an eye on the upcoming Linux version, since I’m a Ubuntu user. Thank you very much for your effort and keep up the good work!

    There’s already a French translation (which seems pretty complete and accurate) so I can’t help much…

    Could you tell us more about the new features?

    Hello all,

    Nice project! I’m willing to add Hungarian language support, for the installer + the game. My questions:
    - Where to submit technical questions? :) Eg. how oninit_closeusdx is prefixed, etc.
    - Hungarian has a feature like German, the formal and non-formal speech in 2nd person singular (eg. “do you want to…” - “Wollen Sie…”/”Willst du…”). Usually formal is used in official documents or when there’s a significant age gap, as it’s a bit distant of course. Which one do you prefer? (The German installer translation seems to mix the two, something which I don’t want to.) It’s also an option to have a formal and non-formal translation too, as two “languages”.

    I wish there is a ‘menu’/'background’ music while navigating the menus or while not in a game.
    I also wish there were a better song editor for less experienced users.

    Do you have a kind of early changelog ?
    I already see that the result screen will be juste as the Songstar one, with little icons, but will ther be animations ?

    What about the webcam support ? (I think it will be difficult, but it’s worth asking :p)

    And what about the Harmony duets ? It would be sooooo great !

    And do you know anything about the Extract Singstar software ? I know it’s not about the next version but I’m wondering if by any chance I had a blu-ray player on my computer, would it be able to extract the songs from my PS3 singstars ? (Maybe I should ask this to the developers of Extract Singstar lol)

    sorry for the late response.
    My PC didn´t work.

    Sanj: Next release does not contain intro but contains background video.
    did you already upload your strawberry skin somewhere ? i´d like to see it.

    Xeric: Yes we do have a changelog, e.g. the one at our Subversion
    Webcam support is not yet implemented, guess it won´t be in the next release.
    Duets might come with the next version :)
    The ExtractSingstar Software does NOT work foor PS3 singstars (cause of the encryption of the DVDs)

    Giulo: The next version fixed start up problem with Vista and Mics and delivers (sorry NO realtime possible) voice playback.

    madpato: yes we tried already, it´s working.

    Hi! I installed the program and put some songs in it, I’m using the PS2 singstar microphones, but it doesn’t work right. It’s like it puts the puntuation even when I’m not singing, so I can be silent, and it’s like it’s playing on it’s own. Is this happening to anybody else? How can I fix it?
